Community Events and Gatherings

MMVI is a modern village hall with rooms for hire and a bumper programme of events for the whole community. We’re right in the heart of Maulds Meaburn, one of Cumbria’s prettiest villages, and we’re also at the heart of the community. From coffee mornings to music nights, we run events that bring people together – young and old, villagers and visitors. We’re also a well-equipped venue to hire for your own events, from weddings to fitness classes.

Sat 16 May   More Hedgerow Baking - baking demo and new foraging talk with Bake Off contestant 

Abbi Lawson 11am- 1.15pm. Including light lunch with foraged-based ingredients, £10. 
Thur 21 May   Menopause and Beyond   A talk by retired GP and family therapist Dr Venetia Young, 

offering practical strategies for dealing with symptoms.  7pm to 9pm. £5, including tea/coffee 

 

Sunday 14 June   Open Gardens   Buy a map and enjoy a bacon buttie at MMVI in the morning, then head round

the parish to see what people do with their green spaces.

Friday 26 June    Cocktails and Mocktails evening!  The perfect way to celebrate summer. Non-alcoholic versions
available too. With tapas to graze on. 7pm.  

 

Thur 16 July   An evening with local Booker Prize-shortlisted author Sarah Hall (Haweswater, Helm),
7pm. £10 including tea and coffee.  Other drinks available at the bar.  Book here

Thur 13 August    Early evening village BBQ on the patio. Fingers crossed for the weather. Last year’s was a
huge success

Thur 10 September   Talk – Dave Felton: Mapping Cumbria   A trustee of Friends of the Lake District, Dave is the
author of The Lake District in 101 Maps & Infographics and publisher of Forty Farms. £5. 7pm  

Saturday 26 September Emi and Liv’s Cucina returns with another sumptuous Italian meal, eaten family style at long tables. Book direct with Rachel Finco, watch for adverts on social media. BYOB.

Sunday 25 Oct Enjoy some yoga and then a sound bath with Shelley and Jess. More details soon.

Saturday 7 November   Our annual Autumn Craft Fair – 10.30am to 3pm. Free entry. 
 

In the pipeline: MMVI is excited to be hosting Eden Valley Touring Network music nights on the third Saturday of each month from October to March. More details when the EVTN schedule is confirmed.
